Tasting Notes

Pale straw in the glass. This wine displays lifted floral aromas of honey suckle, white peach and apricot. The palate is well structured and download.gifviscous with opulent sweet fruit, complexity and a persistent finish. (Winemaker's notes March 2011)


Production

Season:
A cool unsettled spring was followed by one of the hottest and driest summers on record.
Harvest:
Hand harvested - 19 March 2010
Analysis:
Total Acidity 6.1g/L, Alcohol 14 %, pH 3.51
Oak:
Seasoned French barrique
Bottling:
March 2011, 39 Dozen
Vinification:
The grapes were gently whole bunch pressed, then briefly settled to clarify. The juice was then fermented in older French oak. The wine was then aged on lees with occasional stirring for 10 months.
